Blogging tools
You know I go on and on about having a self-hosted site – and I usually recommend starting with Bluehost, which includes a domain name as well as hosting, and is easy to set up – I use Bluehost for several of my sites and have never had any issues at all.
One of my favourite plugins is the Coschedule app, which allows me to schedule Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn shares directly from my blog post (before it’s even published), and has a great editorial calendar showing blog posts as well as social media promotional posts.
Social media tools
Pinterest is my biggest traffic generator for my travel blog and one of the reasons it does so well is I use the Tailwind scheduler to make sure I’m pinning regularly (yet by barely touching it!). So well worth the expense in comparison to the traffic it brings me!
When I was focusing on Instagram I used Schedugram to schedule posts – and I still recommend it, because as far as I know it’s the only tool which is “legal” as such (according to Instagram’s rules).
Cloud accounting
Recently I abandoned my Excel spreadsheets for the Freshbooks accounting software. It’s all online which is handy, as I can add expenses from my phone, and it is easy to generate invoices and keep track of things. And you don’t have to know anything about accounting to understand it.
*Full disclosure: some of these links are affiliate links, which means I receive a small commission if you sign up to them – but they always cost you the same, and are only products and services I use and believe in.
